European Teacher Academy for Creative & Inclusive Learning
Unlocking Creativity in Education
In today’s dynamic educational landscape, it is essential to embrace innovative and inclusive teaching methods. Traditional, teacher-centred approaches have proven to be insufficient, especially when it comes to students from underprivileged backgrounds. The question arises: how can we empower teachers to unleash the full potential of their students through creative methodologies?
Collaboration for Impact
Eleven project partners from 8 countries are joining forces to harness their collective experience. They are coming together to create а European Teacher Academy – a hub dedicated to expanding the use of creative teaching methods. ACADIMIA is a dynamic catalyst for change. It is designed to equip educators with the tools and knowledge they need to effectively integrate creative methods in mainstream education.
Creative methodology
The ACADIMIA project is a testament to collaborative innovation. Creative methods and resources from 10 successful transnational projects will be upscaled and valorised through the Academy’s Joint Curriculum, which will be organised on a modular basis.
Participatory methods (such as: educational drama, forum theatre, gamification, game-based learning, strength-based learning) and educational technologies (f.i. digital storytelling, creative computing, coding) will be underpinned by Montessori philosophy and principles.
Empowering Educators
The heart of the Academy’s mission is to empower teachers. We believe that teachers are the key to enhancing the quality of education. Through the Academy’s Joint Curriculum and a wide range of training activities, including online workshops, summer campus program, e-learning courses, and blended learning experiences, teachers will acquire skills and confidence to transform their classrooms.
Creating a Community of Practice
ACADIMIA goes beyond traditional training by fostering a vibrant professional community of practice. This inclusive community welcomes trainee teachers, pre-service teachers, in-service educators, continuous education trainers and other stakeholders. Here, they can share their experiences, learn from one another, and collectively elevate the impact of creative teaching methods.
A Sustainable Future
The Academy is not a short-term endeavor. It is here to stay and thrive. We are actively establishing formal structures and fostering strategic partnerships with authorities and stakeholders to ensure long-term sustainability.
Our aim is that, by the end of this project, approximately 900 teachers and 10000 students will directly benefit from these transformative activities.
